Junctions with traffic lights, the Piliyandala Police Station area and the public market have become common places for the cattle to congregate.

Shop owners said the animals sought shelter at their shops entrances during rain “So we also have to clear cattle dung before we open our shops each morning.Despite vigorous cleaning using detergents,  consumers avoided the area  due to the smell. This has affected our business. Consumers don’t even  look this way because they can get the smell,” shop owners said.

“Junctions with traffic lights, the Piliyandala Police Station area and  the public market have become common places for the cattle to spend the  nights.”
