“I love you because you understand, dear…” Was the first song at the “Golden Memories Sing Along for the Children” by Sohan and the X-Periments organised by The Lions Clubs International District 306B2.

It was held on 29th March 2015 at the Banquet Hall of the BMICH and was a fund-raiser for the “Sinha Salsevana Children’s Home”.
Dr.B.J.C.Perera, a practising paediatrician, gave the introduction followed by the District Governor Lion S.D.Ranjith Premalal who spoke of the capabilities of the Project Chairperson Lion Mahen Kariyawasam.

Trishella Wijetunge of the “X-Periments” sang “A Song for the Children” and then the Sing Along began with the guests at each table joining in.

“The Sinha Salsevana Children’s Home is in Mattegoda and the children all attend school.  After eighteen years, they are found employment and if they find suitable partners, the marriage is arranged and the wedding held at the Home.”explained Lion Mahen.

One of the guests at the Sing Along had taken part in the “Canadian Idol” programme and he sang “Can’t Help Falling in Love”
“Like a river flows to the sea,
Some things are meant to be…”

Sohan then sang “Judy” and the couples jived on the dance floor.  Then came the ever popular baila to the strains of “Kandy Lamissi”
The singing and dancing were followed by a dinner buffet.
