The Magistrate rejected the bail applications filed by the suspects through their lawyers. He allowed a request from the lawyers for the previous hearing’s case proceedings that included the submissions made by the state counsel.

The suspects were arrested on April 20 by the Financial Crime Investigation Division (FCID) on a complaint made by the Divineguma Department Director General H. Sumanapala that department funds had been misappropriated.
