1,000 TNA members join UNP in Ampara

Neary 1,000 Tamil National Alliance (TNA) members in the Ampara District have quit the TNA and joined the United National Party (UNP) yesterday, UNP National Organiser Daya Gamage said.

He said he handed over the membership cards to the new members of whom were 400 former TNA members from Thirukkovil 600 from Vinayagapuram.

“I warmly welcome all of them who joined the UNP to strengthen our party at the general election,” Mr. Gamage said and added that the UNP was certain to secure the most number of parliamentary seats at the upcoming general elections.
