The Krrish Colombo site (where the former Colombo Fort Police was  situated) was leased from the Urban Development Authority (UDA) for a  period of 99-years to build a multi-purpose residential and commercial  complex. The project is yet to be implemented.

Recently the Health Department of the Colombo Municipality had ordered the Krrish Colombo project site administration to make the place clean and tidy after it was found that the site bore several places conducive for the breeding of mosquitoes.

We found at least 10 mosquito breeding places at the site and also  inside the buildings- havens for dengue-spreading mosquitoes – CMC Medical Officer Dr. Subash Mendis

“We found at least 10 mosquito breeding places at the site and also inside the buildings- havens for dengue-spreading mosquitoes,” CMC Chief Medical Officer Dr. Subash Mendis said.

He also said there was a sizable shrub grown area that promoted the proliferation of mosquitoes.
Although in 2014 hotel chain Ritz-Carlton partnered the Indian real-estate company in the project, the Krrish project is being delayed for many reasons.  And the land has not been utilized for any purpose so far.
