UPFA’s Premalal J., on remand, signs nomination

Former deputy minister Premalal Jayasekara who was remanded on charges of killing a UNP supporter last Thursday signed his nomination papers at the Welikada PrisoDM_20150713_A001-5ns to contest the general election on the UPFA ticket.

He and seven others were arrested by the CID on charges of killing a UNP supporter who was campaigning for President Maithripala Sirisena at the January 8 presidential election.


Mr. Jayasekara’s supporters began his election campaign yesterday at the Nivithigala town.


Though he has been in prison for the past six months he is still the SLFP organizer for the Nivithigala electorate.
