Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran and his son-in-law, Aloysius Liyanage, have been noticed to appear in court on October 30, by Colombo additional magistrate Chandima Liyanage over the Central Bank bond issue.
The magistrate said the petitioner had provided adequate facts in the complaint and ordered the Fiscal Authority to send the notices to the respondents by registered post.
Western Provincial Councillor Renuka Dushyantha Perera had made a private complaint against the CB Governor, Arjuna Mahendran, and his son-in-law alleging that the state had been defrauded of Rs. 20 billion as a result of their actions in the Central Bank Treasury Bond Issue.
