The three Customs officers, who were arrested for allegedly soliciting a bribe of 125 million rupees and remanded at the Kuruwita prisons were admitted to the Prisons Hospital after they suddenly fell ill, sources said.

After a secret operation, Bribery Commission officials nabbed the three officers- a Customs Superintendent, a Deputy Customs Superintendent and an Assistant Superintendent- while they were accepting the country’s largest ever bribe from a businessman on October 18, this year.

After producing them in Court they were remanded and sent to the Kuruwita Prisons.
