GOTA not in Court to give EVIDENCE

Untitled-3The Colombo Special High Court hearing LTTE cases yesterday postponed the trial against five LTTE cadres for June 27 when it was found that former defence secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who is one of the prosecution witnesses, was not present in court to give evidence.

On observing that the state witness Gotabaya Rajapaksa was not present in Court she postponed the trial to June 27

The case against the five suspects, Ponnasamy Karthigesu, Sivaligam Aruran, P Sharma, Chandra Bose Somaraj and Vellasamy Paramdevan were taken up for trial by Judge Iranganie Perera.

On observing that the state witness Gotabaya Rajapaksa was not present in Court she postponed the trial and ordered the prosecution to summon the witness on this date. The accused were indicted by the Attorney General for conspiring to kill the then defence secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa in Colombo
