Coach, 4 students beat up student for saying no to rugby

A rugby coach and four students of a school in Dematagoda were arrested on charges of beating up a 14-year-old student of the same school for refusing to take part in rugby. Untitled-1

A complaint was lodged at the Dematagoda Police Station stating that a grade-10 student was taken to the rugby room and assaulted by four other students and the rugby coach.   
Police said the victim was practising badminton in the school premises last Friday when the coach approached him with the request to play rugby.   
When the student refused, he was forcefully taken to the rugby room by the four students who were allegedly told to beat him up.   
The student was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital while the 47-year-old coach and the four students, aged between 17 and 18, were arrested on assault charges   
The suspects were identified as residents of Dematagoda and Borella and were produced in the Hulftsdrof Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
