Pointing out that the relevant authorities ignored repairs to the road that connected Kiriwaththuduwa and Pinkolawatta in Olaboduwa for more than 25 long years, the residents stressed the need to repair the road in a dilapidated condition.

They said the road, situated about three kilometres away from Kiriwaththuduwa, was constantly filled with water due to the large potholes in it.

They said the route that used to have buses every half an hour, now had only two a day; and it is likely to be halted during the monsoon season. Road repairs had been ignored as it was unfortunately situated in between the borders of the Colombo and Kalutara Districts, the residents added.

Situated between the Horana and Homagama Divisional Secretariats, the road leads to a government school, cemetery, a large company and to thousands of houses.

However, the road has not seen any development, renovation or repair by any local government body during the past few years.
