The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) is hopeful that a breakthrough will be made in the production of the interim report on constitution making, party officials said yesterday.  DM_20170203_A001-48

The party’s Jaffna District MP, M. A. Sumanthiran told Daily Mirror that the Steering Committee would meet again on February 7, 8 and 9. He said the interim report was due to be submitted on December 10, last year.

“It has been delayed. Now there are concerns among some parties about it. Yet we believe there will be a breakthrough,” he said.
Referring to President Maitripala Sirisena’s speech in Batticaloa recently, he said the President sounded keen to proceed with the constitution making process.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) will meet next month and Sri Lanka’s case will also feature at the sessions.
