China’s investment in Sri Lankan economic projects is not against the interests of any other country, a spokesman said yesterday.

A spokesman from the Chinese embassy told the Daily Mirror that his country would invest here on the basis of win-win cooperation and otherwise there was no move against the interests of another country.

He was responding to fears expressed by some countries that the development of the Hambantota Port by a Chinese company would be detrimental to their interests.
