The National cricket team were in Kandy yesterday to invoke the blessings of the Triple Gem at the historical Sri Dalada Maligawa prior to embarking on a week-long residential training camp at the Pallekele International Stadium in preparation for Champions Trophy to be played in England and Wales next month.

Sri Lanka Cricket opened a new indoor cricket facility in Pallekele yesterday. Skipper Angelo Mathew joined the training camp while Lasith Malinga will join the Sri Lanka team in England after the IPL tournament in India.

Sri Lanka will play two warm-up games against Scotland while the ICC has scheduled two more warm-up games before the tournament gets underway next month. Sri Lanka are pooled alongside South Africa, India and Pakistan and will take on South Africa on June 3 at the Oval.
