Sharmal, Yasitha bow out of contention

Sri Lanka’s Sharmal Dissanayake and Yasitha de Silva who won their first-round matches in the Sri Lanka F1 Futures Tennis Tournament on day one, bowed out of contention when they lost their second-round matches played at the SLTA Courts in Green Path, Colombo yesterday.

Sharmal lost to Russia’s Mikhail Korovin while Yasitha went down to Italy’s Davide Gallopini by the identical margin of 2-0.  The pair also lost the doubles match to the Indian pair of Chandril Sood and Lakshit Sood in the first-round.

Meanwhile another Sri Lankan player Nishangan Nadaraja was beaten in a first-round singles match by S. D. Prawal Dev of India. 
The singles quarter-final matches and the two semi-final doubles will be played today commencing at 9.00 a.m.
