The National Cricket Selectors yesterday made two changes to the Sri Lanka Squad that played in the first-two ODIs against the touring Zimbabwe Team in Galle last week.

The selectors brought in Lahiru Kumara to replace spinner Amila Aponso and Chamara Kapugedera in place of all-rounder Lahiru Madushanka for the final three matches of the series which will be played at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Hambantota today (6), July 8 and 10.

Aponso, who played in the first ODI, was ineffective conceding 77 runs in his 8.4 overs, as Sri Lanka lost the match by six wickets.
Madushanka also played in that game and failed to make any meaningful contributions.

Kumara last played in an ODI during Bangladesh’s tour of Sri Lanka earlier this year while Kapugedera was part of the Champions Trophy Squad before he was injured after Sri Lanka’s first match against South Africa.

Sri Lanka Squad: Angelo Mathews (Captain), Upul Tharanga (Vice-Captain), Kusal Mendis, Danushka Gunathilaka, Upul Tharanga, Niroshan Dickwella, Asela Gunaratne, Wanidu Hasaranga, Lakshan Sandakan, Lahiru Kumara, Chamara Kapugedera, Lasith Malinga, Nuwan Pradeep and Dushmantha Chameera.
