Missing woman and two girls surrender

The 19-year-old woman and two girls from Kolonnawa who went missing on Saturday surrendered to police yesterday.   


The woman from Grandpass, who is a mother of one and a 15-year-old girl from Kolonnawa surrendered to the Wellampitiya Police early yesterday morning while the third girl (14) surrendered to the Gampaha Police along with another woman which the girl had stayed with.   
Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara said the 19-year-old woman and other woman who detained the 14-year-old girl were arrested and the two under-aged girls would be referred for a medical check-up.   

The woman and two girls had reported gone missing from Saturday (14) and the Wellampitiya Police and the Grandpass Police launched investigations into the disappearance following a complaint.  SP Gunasekara said the women and girls surrendered to the police after the Wellampitiya Police had questioned a youth who had an affair with the 15-year-old girl following the disappearance.    The police also arrested the youth.   Police spokesman said the police are investigating as to why they fled their homes.
