The 70s was a time in Sri Lanka where his songs made waves amongst the listeners. He is back again, this time live, in 2017 to do the same. UK’s legendary and loved singer, Tony Christie, will make his debut in Sri Lanka this month.

Tony will be performing at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) on the 11th of November (7 p.m onwards) along with his 7 piece professional band all the way from the United Kingdom. This will be Tony’s first concert in Asia where he will be entertaining the crowd with 20 of his most popular songs which includes ‘Is this the way to Amarillo’, the 2006 FIFA world cup theme song.

The multi-talented artist had his first breakthrough with the song ‘Las Vegas’ that climbed its way to the UK top 30 chart. His song, ‘I Did What I Did for Maria’, is a UK No.2 hit song that was at No. 1 on the New Musical Express chart. His world famous song, ‘Amarillo’, was on the UK charts three times. He has also recorded nine albums in Germany which include most of his own compositions. Over the course of Tony Christie’s career, he has recorded over 40 albums, 70 singles and has played at countless live performances.
