  • This transpired at a meeting with the Prime Minister and several ministers at Temple Trees on how best to implement the recommendations
  • The need to protect the documents pertaining to the bond issues from 2008 to 2015 was also stressed

 

Untitled-10Central Bank (CB) Governor Indrajith Coomarasamy has informed Prime Minister Ranil Wickrmesinghe that his institution would begin a Forensic Audit on the bond issues as recommended by the Presidential Commission appointed to probe the 2015 bond issue, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement. 

 He said this at a meeting he had with the Prime Minister and several ministers at Temple Trees yesterday.   


The Governor said this in response to a request made by the Prime Minister that Central Bank should begin implementing the recommendations made by the bond commission.   It has been stressed at this discussion that it was important to safeguard the documents pertaining to the bond issues from 2008 to 2015.   


Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera, Law and Order Minister Sagala Ratnayake, State Minister Niroshan Perera, Deputy Minister Harsha De Silva, State Minister Eran Wickramartne, Treasury Secretary Dr. R H S Samaratunga, National Policies and Economic Affairs Ministry Secretary K.D.S. Ruwanchnadra participated at this discussion.
