Sachin spins St. Peter’s to second outright win

Right-arm spinner Sachin Silva’s seven-wicket haul paved the way for St. Peter’s College to a seven wicket outright win over Richmond College in their Under-19 Inter-Schools cricket encounter which concluded at Bambalapitiya yesterday.


St. Peter’s in reply to Richmond’s 203 went on to make 239 runs in their first innings. Richmond batting the second time succumbed to 87 runs with Sachin ending with impressive figures of seven for 22.


St. Peter’s, set to make 52 runs for victory, reached their target in the seventh over and went on to record their second outright win in the current season.


Meanwhile, Maris Stella College dominated proceedings in their drawn Inter-Schools match against Thurstan College which ended at Thurtsan Grounds yesterday. 


In addition, Royal College secured an innings and 35-run win over Kegalu MV, Holy Cross Kalutara defeated St. Peter’s College Negombo by eight wickets and Sri Pangnananda MV Raddoluwa recorded an innings and 58-run win over Kirindiwela Central.
