Political party leaders have decided to hold a three-day debate on the reports submitted by the Bond Commission and PRECIFAC, parliamentary sources said yesterday.

They said the debate would be held today from 10.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. and continued on February 21 and 22.

The sources said it would be an adjournment debate moved by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe this morning.

The party leaders were of the view that sub judice would not apply because of the fact that only a ‘B’ report had been filed against Perpetual Treasuries Ltd., owner Arjun Aloysius and CEO Kasun Palisena.
Speaker Karu Jayasuriya had on an earlier occasion said the debate would not be confined to one day while President Maithripala Sirisena was also of the opinion that a day’s debate would not serve any purpose.
