MB-5Dashing batsman Kusal Janith Perera has been ruled out of the two-match Twenty20I series against Bangladesh on medical advice, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said yesterday.

Perera was injured during Sri Lanka’s second match of the Triangular ODI series which included Bangladesh and Zimbabwe and it was determined that he needs more time to recover.

Perera has been replaced by Kusal Mendis who had a good time in the Tests in Bangladesh following the ODIs.

He scored 196 in Sri Lanka’s only innings in the drawn first Test in Chittagong, and then scored 68 and seven in the second Test, played in Dhaka, which Sri Lanka won by 215 runs to take the series 1-0.
The two T20Is will be played in Dhaka on February 15 and Sylhet on February 18.
