Amid moves by the joint opposition supported by some government members to unseat Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe by way of a no-confidence motion, a UNP delegation led by him is to meet President Maithripala Sirisena to discuss the current political crisis brewing in the country. 

 

SB, Dayasiri and Susil likely to support no-faith motionus 

 

The Prime Minister is reported to have met party seniors on Sunday and discussed steps to be taken in such an eventuality and to meet the President to discuss the latest developments.   


Ministers S.B. Dissanayake, Dayasiri Jayasekara and Susil Premajayantha are said to have decided to support the no-confidence motion if and when it is taken up in Parliament.   


JO sources said the motion was to be handed over to Speaker Karu Jayasuriya today.
