The United National Party’s (UNP’s) Working Committee would meet today to discuss reports of the committees appointed to restructure the party and the Government, a party source said.

“Special focus is also expected to be on the No-Confidence Motion against the Prime Minister,” the source said.

A UNP Minister, who did not wish to be named told the Daily Mirror that a resolution that the party should defeat the No Confidence Motion against the Prime Minister would be put before the Working Committee. He said the Working Committee will also discuss the reports put forward by the various committees appointed to look into the party and government reforms.

The committee appointed to look into party reforms had recommended that the party leadership should name a successor, while Deputy Leader of the party should be given more powers, while office bearers of the party should be reshuffled. However, sources said it was unlikely that final decisions on the party reforms would be made today.
