ming the arrest of former ambassador to Russia, Udayanga Weeratunga in Dubai, Senior State Counsel Udara Karunatilake appearing for the FCID yesterday informed Court that steps were being taken through the Foreign Affairs Ministry to bring him to Sri Lanka.   

 

 

The FCID named four Singaporeans and a Ukrainian and a Singaporean company as suspects in the magisterial inquiry conducted into the financial loss caused to the government when purchasing four Ukraine-built MIG 27 aircraft worth US$14 million in 2006

 

 In another report, the FCID named four Singaporeans and a Ukrainian and a Singaporean company as suspects in the magisterial inquiry conducted into the financial loss caused to the government when purchasing four Ukraine-built MIG 27 aircraft worth US$14 million in 2006.   


 The prosecution also requested court to notice the suspects to report to the CID to record further statements in connection with this inquiry.   


Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne fixed April 6 to deliver the order.
