A seven acre plot of land belonging to the state, located at School Lane in Kerawalapitiya, Hendala Wattala, is being filled up by an outsider, say the residents.

Media personnel who visited the site, observed that soil brought in tippers had been dumped at this site. Rain water that flows through School Lane which is located on a higher elevation, finally ends up at this paddy land, and therefore filling this area and blocking the flow of water could lead to severe inconvenience being caused to residents.

A senior resident, Benedict, has already brought this matter to the notice of the Wattala police.

When this matter was posed to the Wattala Divisional Secretary Ms. P.D.P.T. Rajika, she said that the Grama Niladhari of the relevant Kerawalapitiya area had not brought this matter to her notice, but however, promised to take the necessary steps with regard to this matter.
