Incumbent Chairman of Selectors Graeme Labrooy is set to be given an extension though the final look of the next cricket selection panel could change, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) President Thilanga Sumathipala said yesterday.
The term of the committee that was headed by Labrooy and included Asanka Gurusinha, Jeryl Woutersz, Gamini Wickremasinghe and Sajith Fernando ended on May 15.

“Graeme Labrooy will continue as the Chairman of Selectors, but there will be changes to the panel which we have not finalised yet,” Sumathipala told the  yesterday.

One of the imminent changes would be that of Asanka Gurusinha, who took over the role as High Performance Manager (HPM) on May 15, and will relinquish his position in the selection panel.

We will finalise the names over the next two days, and anyway there are no more selections to be made for the rest of
the month

“We will finalise the names over the next two days, and anyway there are no more selections to be made for the rest of the month,” Sumathipala also said.

Meanwhile, Labrooy confirmed that his consent was sought to continue as Chairman of Selectors, though he had not been officially informed if he would continue.
