Tell TNA that Prime Minister not trustworthy; south will oppose 20A

LATE-CITY--DM-1-4By Sandun A Jayasekera

Former Minister and member of the SLFP rebel group of 16, Parliamentarian S.B. Dissanayake said yesterday that they told the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) the futility of supporting the efforts to introduce a new Constitution as it would be fully opposed by voters in parts of the country.

PM did not command the confidence

The TNA led by Opposition Leader R. Sampanthan and a delegation from the SLFP rebel group met at the Opposition Leader’s office yesterday to discuss the current political situation of the country and issues related to both parties.
Mr Dissanayake told the Daily Mirror that they told Mr Sampanthan that Prime Minister did not command the confidence, not only in the south, but among many members in the UNP itself, and therefore it was pointless to trust him for Constitutional reforms, that would benefit the Tamils.
