Two state Ministers, five deputy ministers sworn in

Two new state ministers and five deputy ministers were sworn in yesterday by President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat.

Matale District UNP MP Ranjith Aluwihare took his oaths as State Minister of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs and Kandy District UNP MP Lucky Jayawardana took his oaths as State Minister of  Hillcountry New Villages Infrastructure Development and Community Development.   

The new deputy ministers who were sworn in were: Environment — UNP MP, Ajith Manapperuma; Agriculture — UPFA MP Angajan Ramanathan; Resettlement, Rehabilitation, Northern Development and Hindu Religious Affairs – SLFP MP K. Kader Masthan – Domestic Affairs and Wayamba Development — UNP MP Edward Gunasekara and Public Administration and Management — UNP MP Nalin Bandara.   

With the new appointments, the number of state ministers will rise from 20 to 22 and deputy ministers from 17 to 22.
