SL in Group ‘C’ for Asian netball

Sri Lanka have been drawn into Group ‘B’ for the Asian Senior Netball Championships which would be held from September 1-9 in Singapore.   
The other two teams in Group ‘B’ are Chinese Taipei and India. The 15-member Sri Lanka Squad will be announced on Saturday.   


Sri Lanka emerged runners-up in the previous tournament held in 2016 in Thailand.  


Sri Lanka would take on Chinese Taipei in their opening fixture on September 1 and will meet India in their second outing on the following day.   

 

The champions and the runners-up will qualify to play in the World Netball Championships in England next year


The defending champions Malaysia are in Group ‘A’ along with Japan and the Maldives.  


Group ‘C’ includes Singapore, Brunei and Pakistan while Group ‘D’ includes Hong Kong, Thailand and the Philippines.   


The second round matches will be played from September 4 to 6 and the semifinals will be worked off on September 8.   


The champions and the runners-up will qualify to play in the World Netball Championships in England next year.
