The Ministry of Justice and Prison Reforms has made investigations into the incident in which one suspect of the drug traffickers had been allowed to spend several days with his family in the Circuit Bungalow of the Dumbara Prisons last December.

The suspect had been identified as Mohamed Suhayir Mohamed Mahir who had been arrested recently with a stock of drugs worth of Rs.1.2 billion on July 7, 2018 from Kalubowila and Battaramulla areas.

He is said to be the main accomplice of Dharmaraja Susendran alias Susai who has been sentenced to life imprisonment over a heroin racket. A senior police officer said that the suspect had taken this circuit bungalow with the help of Susai.

An investigation is done in this regard with the advice of the Justice and Prisons reforms Minister Thalatha Atukorala.

In the meantime, a mobile phone that was in the possession of Susai had been taken into custody and been given to Police Anti- drug investigation Bureau.
