Second Unofficial ODI Thisara steers SL ‘A’ to level series

A blistering knock of 111 from 88 balls inclusive of nine boundaries and five sixes by Skipper Thisara Perera helped Sri Lanka ‘A’ record a comfortable 67-run win against Bangladesh ‘A’ in the second unofficial ODI played at Sylhet, Bangladesh yesterday.

Thisara rescued Sri Lanka ‘A’ with a valuable 77-run stand for the eighth wicket with Malinda Pushpakumara and added another 44 runs for the ninth wicket with Shehan Madusanka when they were struggling at 129 for nine in the 29th over before ending with a formidable score of 275.

Later, Malinda Pushpakumara and Nishan Peiris shared six wickets between them to restrict the hosts to 208 and for Sri Lanka ‘A’ to level the three-match series at one each. 
The two teams will play their final one-dayer on July 21 at the same venue.

Bangladesh ‘A’: 208 in 44.3 overs (Al-Amin 46, Zakir Hasan 32, Saif Hassan 28, Ariful Haque 27, Mohammad Mithun 25,  Malinda Pushpakumara 3/32, Nishan Peiris 3/39).
