But on Tuesday, kind-hearted Katy Perry took time to personally visit and serenade a young cancer-stricken superfan who was too sick to attend her Adelaide concert.

The American pop star, 33, shared the emotional meeting with eight-year-old Grace on her Instagram page. Katy visited Grace’s family home where she is recovering from brain surgery to remove a 6cm tumour.

The visit came after the youngster’s older sister Tiana Tweeted out a plea for Katy to meet with her sick sibling last week. The post was re-Tweeted more than 20,000 times. My baby sister is meant to attend @katyperry concert in Adelaide this year but was diagnosed with a 6cm brain tumour and has been battling all year, Grace has been Katy’s biggest fan since she was 3, please help us try and get in contact,’ her original post read.

The Teenage Dream hit-maker heard about the request and set time aside to make the little girl’s dream come true.

In photos uploaded from the special encounter, the star was seen hugging and singing along with a delighted Grace in her living room.  She even gifted her some signed tour merchandise as a memento. A source told Daily Mail Australia that Katy brought along two of her band members for the singalong.

The Roar songstress shared a video of the youngster to her Instagram Story, showing Grace beaming with delight as her idol shared uninterrupted time with her. Following the private meeting, Grace’s older sister Tiana took to Twitter to thank Katy. ‘GUYS WE DID IT! @katyperry just visited Grace! She’s truly (sic) amazing and such a sweet person’ she wrote.
