Octane 95 petrol up by Rs.2 super diesel by Rs.1

Based on the monthly fuel revision formula, the price of a litre of octane 95 petrol was increased by Rs.2 while the price of a litre of super diesel was increased by Rs.1 with effect from Friday midnight, Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera announced yesterday.  

A litre of octane 95 petrol will now be sold at Rs.157 while a litre of super diesel will be sold at Rs.130 until the next fuel revision on September 10.  


The price of octane 92 Petrol that of auto diesel will remain unchanged.  


The minister said though there were fluctuations in the fuel prices in the world market, there was marginal increase in the prices of fuel during the past two weeks and this was why we needed to adjust to the prevailing prices.
