National Police Commission (NPC) sources said that it had sent a letter to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) in which it questioned as to why the recommendations of the National Police Commission had not been carried out.
A top ranking officer of the commission said that it had queried from the IGP as to why six recommendations, the appointment of acting DIG given by the Police Commission with reference to Senior SP in charge of Kilinochchi Division Palitha Siriwardene, promotions of various persons belonging to 129 political victims, non-removal of the IP of the Narammala Police and the interdiction of the OIC of Police Statistics Division had not been implemented as requested.
National Police Commission had demanded an immediate response to their letter.
