STF seizes 110 kilos of ganja, equipment manufacturing aphrodisiac

A stock of 110 kilos of ganja and equipment used to grind cannabis to manufacture an aphrodisiac called ‘Madana Modaka’ were seized and two suspects arrested by a team of officers attached to the Hambantota STF camp during a raid at Kahakurullanpelessa in Thanamalwila. The STF carried out the raid on information received by intelligence officer PC 86967 Indika. 

One of the suspects was a 40-year-old father of three and the other a 24-year-old father of one. They were handed over to the Thanamalwila Police for further action. 

Hambantota STF Camp Commanding Officer CI Sagala Kulasekara, IP M.H.A. Maduranga, SI Weerasinghe, Sergeant 4228 Sugath, PCs 12061 Randeniya, 12927 Chaturanga, 72619 Udayakumara, 86967 Indika, 77292 Dharmasiri, 87871 Bandara and 13597 Chaturanga carried out the raid on the instructions of Regional Commander ASP M.L.R. Chandrasiri and Zonal Commander SP Nishedha Fernando.
