Under-19 Asia Cup Sri Lanka secures semi-final spot

Sri Lanka recorded a close 23-run win over Pakistan in their Under-19 Asia Cup Cricket Tournament match played at the MA Aziz Stadium in Bangladesh yesterday.


With this win, Sri Lanka secured the top spot in Group ‘B’ and also qualified to play in the semi-finals along with India, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.


The two semi-finals are scheduled to be played on October 4 and 5 at the Dhaka Stadium.


In other matches worked off yesterday, India secured a 51-run win against Afghanistan at the Krira Ground 3.


In addition, hosts Bangladesh defeated Hong Kong by five wickets at the Zahur Ahmed Stadium while Nepal recorded a three-wicket win over the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the Krira Ground 4.

 

With this win, Sri Lanka secured the top spot in Group ‘B’ and also qualified to play in the semi-finals along with India, Afghanistan and Bangladesh

Afghanistan U-19: 170 in 45.4 overs (Reyaz Hassan 47, Rahmadullah Gurbaz 37, Basir Khan 29, Siddarth Desai 4/37, Harsh Tyagi 3/40, Sameer Choudhary 2/18).
