Asian U-18 Girls’ Rugby SL settles for eighth place

Sri Lanka secured the eighth place at the Asian Under-18 Girls’ Rugby Tournament which concluded in Bhubaneswar, India yesterday.

Sri Lanka, who did well to beat Bangladesh 81-0 on the opening day of the tournament, lost all their matches on the second day.  

They were beaten by the UAE (12-27), India (15-24), Hong Kong (0-51), Qatar (10-17) and UAE (0/27) in the seventh-place playoff. 

Meanwhile, China beat Hong Kong 28-5 to win the event while Thailand had the better of hosts India 25-5 to secure the third-place playoff.
