The government would organize a massive protest at the Parliament Roundabout, Battaramulla on November 5 to show its people support in response to the UNP’s protest held on Tuesday in Colombo, MP Mahindananda Aluthgamage said.   He said they want to show to the international community that a majority of Sri Lankans are with them and also to the UNP how to organize a demonstration. “We want to convey the message that a majority of people back the new government of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. The theme of our demonstration is ‘113 plus; Rata Rakina Janavegaya’.

Close to 3500 SLPP Pradeshiya Sabha members and 1500 SLFP PS members would bring in people to Battaramulla on Monday to show our power,” he told a news briefing held at the SLPP Head office in Colombo.

Meanwhile, MP Susil Premajayantha said the new government would adopt economic policies which are favourable to the country. He said the combination of President Sirisena and Prime Minister Rajapaksa was the best option to salvage the country from the present crisis.
