The organisers of the environmental promotion programme in the Dehiwala Mount Lavinia Beach to mark the 71st anniversary of the country’s independence fashioned a model of the national flag with sand on the beach, which was a special attraction to the public who participated. It was 60ft long and 35ft wide.
