City of Kurunegala To be developed at a cost of Rs.10,000 mn: Patali

Megapolis and Western Development Ministry hopes to develop the Kurunegala City with an investment of Rs.10,000 million, Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka said. 

 He said this at the inauguration of developments projects round the Kurunegala tank.   

“According to our future plan, the maid hub outside Colombo will be the City of Kurunegala,” the minister said. “Our objective is to travel from Colombo to Trincomalee via Kurunegala, Dambulla, Habarana as the main economic corridor in the country,” the minister said.  

He said they were carrying out main developments in Galle, Kandy, Anuradhapura, Jaffna and Kurunegala which would be converted into strategic cities.
